The EU WOMEN Partnership invites you to join us to celebrate the completion of the EU WOMEN eLearning platform.

The EU WOMEN eLearning platform is an in-teractive, online resource developed using the Moodle Learning Management System for women interested in finding out more about ‘pre-enterprise’.

Micro-enterprises will be vitally important to the European economy as we struggle to re-cover from recession. The EU WOMEN eLearning platform aims to encourage women from all backgrounds (particularly those who are ’economically inactive’) to believe that they can develop successful businesses.

‘If I can do it, anyone can do it!’

The Final Conference will provide an opportu-nity to hear from women who have started their own businesses and will enable you to network with project partners and enterprise support organisations from across Europe.

Conference participants will have the opportunity to try out the e-earning platform on the day at a supervised workshop.

El proyecto EU Women tiene como objetivo aumentar el número de mujeres que contemplan la posibilidad del autoempleo mediante el desarrollo de un programa a la medida de aprendizaje pre-empresarial y haciéndolo disponible online.

Actividades
El proyecto EU Women:
• ha desarrollado materiales innovadores y a medida, de aprendizaje pre-empresarial para la mujer
• ha traducido estos materiales a los 8 idiomas del partenariado
• ha utilizado el sistema de gestión del aprendizaje Moodle para hacer que el material esté disponible gratuitamente a través de Internet (para acceder, hacer clic en el enlace en la web del proyecto www.euwomen.org)
• ha realizado un curso piloto interactivo en Rumania, Bulgaria e Italia.

Resultados e Impacto
Los socios prevén que mediante el desarrollo de materiales de aprendizaje innovadores y haciendo éstos accesibles a mujeres de toda Europa, el proyecto EU Women:
• permitirá a las mujeres adquirir conocimientos pre-empresariales;
• capacitará a las mujeres para dar el próximo paso hacia el autoempleo;
• facilitará la transferencia de conocimientos, de la innovación y de mejores prácticas entre los países socios;
• contribuirá al desarrollo económico de los estados miembros

Grupos destinatarios
Se espera que el proyecto EU Women beneficie a las mujeres de toda la UE, en particular las que se enfrentan a los mayores desafíos pre-empresariales (por ejemplo, las mujeres que viven en zonas rurales, las personas con pocos títulos académicos o ninguno, las desempleadas a largo plazo, o las que tienen dependientes a su cargo a tiempo completo, etc).

In March, under the Lifelong Learning Programme Leonardo da Vinci Partnerships, Lawton School welcomed their partners in the European project ICT Bridges from BFI in Austria BFI – www.bfi-stmk.at , CCBN Romania – www.cciabn.ro and the Sunflower Centre, University of Ostrava in the Czech Republic- www.vsb.cz , as well as users of resources for people with disabilities in those countries.

The Director of the Centre, Don Eduardo Pérez Errasti welcomed them to the centre and Asturias. A tour of the centre was conducted by students, in English, and of its star room: the Snoezelen sensory stimulation room.

In the computer room The students made a presentation on their blog and of some of their personal stories using ICT.

Gaura Livia Dana, a teacher at the specialized Vocational Training Centre “Santa Maria” Bistrita, Romania, presented their training program to attend the special educational needs of thier pupils and their employability plan in trades with aesthetics, hospitality and textiles.

Danuse Bauerova, Director of the Sunflower Centre, University of Ostrava in the Czech Republic explained details about the ICT Bridges project which she coordinates, and showed the web where people with disabilities can interact with each other. The Sunflower Centre is part of the University of Ostrava, and supports people in college with disabilities.

On behalf of Steiermark Berufsförderungsinstitut, Austria, Michaela Meier gave atalk on their programs to help blind people in finding work.
