18 March 2009

The name of Cambridge is well known throughout the world.  The most popular levels are F.C.E. (First Certificate in English) and C.A.E.(Certificate in Advanced English). All Cambridge exams include a section on Reading, Writing, Use of English, Listening and Speaking.  For further information see
Cambridge University ESOL
website.

Trinity – Graded Examination in Spoken English – are oral exams, lasting between five and twenty-five minutes (depending on the grade). For further information see
Trinity College London

Both Cambridge and Trinity exams have levels which correspond to the internationally recognized benchmark of language ability: the European Framework of Reference for Language.  The Framework uses six levels to describe language ability, from A1 – C2.

All Trinity and Cambridge certificates are valid for life.

TOEFL and IELTS results are valid for two years.  They are usually required when applying for a place in academic institutions.
